The HR-SC is a representative cutter for secondary sampling of slurries as produced in flotation plants for mineral processing. Following the primary sampling the slurry sample is transported pneumatically to the laboratory and collected within a vessel. After accumulation of the appropriate material amount secondary sampling takes place using the the HR- SC. Due to the solid content of the slurry and the further sample preparation the secondary sample volume is 1-2 l. Usually, filter presses and ovens are used for further water removal. Subsequently, the dry powder material can be further processed by, e.g., grinding, pelletizing, fusion and other procedures.
Representative splitting of various material types
Dependent from material and solid content the split ratio of the HR-SC is between 1:3 and 1:20. By adapting the splitting frequency, the HR- SC can process various different materials. The linear splitting mechanism allows production of a representative secondary sample for reliable analysis results of concentrates and tailings.
