All advantages at a glance

Automated analysis of sample liquids

The Analytical Transfer Unit HL-ATU enables the direct and automated transfer of sample liquids into analyzers such as ICP-OES and ICP-MS. Analyzers from the world's leading manufacturers can be integrated.

The HL-ATU makes it possible to fully automate the entire laboratory process – from sample preparation to analysis. This results in a significant increase in efficiency in the processes of modern laboratories.

Flexible sample handling for different vessel types

The HL-ATU supports the handling of various types of vessels, including sample tubes with screw caps, laboratory beakers with watch glass lids, and microwave digestion vessels with a snap-on cap. The opening and closing of the vessels is done automatically by the respective version of the Capping/Decapping Unit HL-CU.

These automated processes ensure safe and reliable handling, regardless of the type of vessel. This enables seamless integration into various laboratory processes.

Automated liquid transfer and data communication

The sample liquid transfer process is fully automated. The dispensing needle is precisely inserted into the sample vessel. If samples have solid deposits or phase boundaries, the dispensing needle can be precisely adjusted in the z-axis so that the tip remains positioned on the liquid surface during transfer. An optional ultrasonic sensor supports liquid level detection to optimally control the transfer process.

The interface to the analysis device is automatically established via the PrepMaster Core SCADA software. If necessary, all relevant process and analysis data can be communicated via an existing LIMS system that is connected to PrepMaster Core via a standard interface. The relevant process data includes, for example, the sample ID, the need for further sample dilution, or the requirement for a calibration sample. This ensures a continuous, error-free flow of information.

Effective contamination prevention

To prevent contamination, liquid transfer is performed exclusively via high-purity, chemically resistant tubing. After each transfer, the tubing system and dispensing needle are rinsed with suitable cleaning fluids.

Expandability and customization options

The HL-ATU offers numerous expansion options to cover a range of process requirements. With an additional Capping/Decapping Unit HL-CU, various types of vessels and caps can be handled.

If the sample liquid needs to be diluted, the unit can be combined with the Liquid Dosing Unit HL-DU to adjust the sample precisely to the required concentration. This flexibility makes the HL-ATU a powerful component for automated and versatile laboratory processes.
