All advantages at a glance

Smooth unpacking of samples from pneumatic tube carriers

The HR-ES/L not only enables the smooth unpacking of steel and pig iron samples from the pneumatic tube carrier. Hot samples can also be cooled down quickly and reliably in the HR-ES/L. For this purpose, a cooling station is integrated into the HR-ES/L, which uses both compressed air and water to lower the temperature. In the case of water cooling, the samples are then dried with compressed air to avoid possible interference with the OES analysis due to water residues.

Perfect integration into a steel automation system

The robot removes the pneumatic tube carrier from the HR-HSK/L laboratory station and transports it to the HR-ES/L input position. Here, the pneumatic tube is rotated around its longitudinal axis until the sample it contains is properly aligned. This ensures that the sample is not clamped on the pin in the subsequent process steps.

Once the pneumatic tube is aligned, the tube cover is lifted off and the sample is sucked out by vacuum through the HR-ES/L handling system. Depending on the sample temperature, the sample is first cooled or transferred directly to the robot for further preparation. For this purpose, the handling system of the HR-ES/L can transport the sample to a second robot circuit, which is installed at the end of the HR-ES/L. In this case, the HR-ES/L is designed as a long version. Alternatively, the sample can also be transferred back to the same robot circuit. In this case, the HR-ES/L is configured as a short version.

Maximum flexibility

The HR-ES/L enables flexible handling of different sample shapes. These include round, oval, lollipop, and tab samples. The HR-ES/L is designed for processing several different sample shapes in one machine. In addition to the other sample shapes, cylindrical and conical samples can also be unpacked and transferred in the HR-ES/L (optional). Usually, no cooling is required for these samples, as they are subsequently processed in the HS-CF or HS-CP by means of a cutting process.

Optimized for the requirements of steelworks laboratories

The HR-ES/L ensures both reliable and fast further processing of steel and pig iron samples. All components of the machine, including the handling system, are easy to configure and can be optimally adjusted to the requirements of the respective laboratory. This makes the HR-ES/L a reliable component within a process- and time-optimized laboratory operation.
