- name of the term: Automated Sample Preparation
- descriptions of the term:
Automated Sample Preparation
Automated sample preparation encompasses all the automated process steps required to transform a raw sample into a representative and analyzable sample. It forms the basis for precise, reproducible, and reliable analysis results.
Depending on the material, analytical method, and application, different methods of mechanical, thermal, or wet-chemical sample preparation are used. The goal is to bring the sample into a defined state that enables reliable and reproducible analytical testing.
Since a significant portion of the total measurement uncertainty arises during sample preparation, the standardization of all process steps is of crucial importance. Automated systems reduce operator influence, ensure reproducible process conditions, and simultaneously increase sample throughput, workplace safety, and analysis quality.
HERZOG develops integrated solutions for the complete automation of sample preparation—from the raw sample to the finished analytical sample. The portfolio includes systems for mechanical, thermal, and wet chemical sample preparation, as well as their seamless integration into laboratory automation, analytical instruments, and software platforms such as PrepMaster Core, PrepMaster Entry, and PrepMaster Analytics.
