- descriptions of the term:
Dosing
Dosing refers to the precise measurement and delivery of defined quantities of solids or liquids within a laboratory or production process.
In analytical laboratories, dosing plays a central role in the preparation of samples, standards, and reagent solutions. Even minor deviations can affect the accuracy of subsequent analysis.
Modern dosing systems operate on a gravimetric or volumetric basis and enable the highly precise addition of even the smallest quantities. In automated wet chemistry laboratories in particular, dosing is entirely software-controlled.
Typical applications include the addition of acids during digestion, the dilution of samples, and the preparation of calibration solutions.
HERZOG offers automated dosing solutions for solids and liquids. Software-controlled dosing minimizes operator influence, shortens process times, and ensures consistently high analytical quality.
