Particle Size Distribution
Particle size distribution describes the frequency distribution of different particle sizes within a material. It is one of the most important quality parameters in many industrial processes.
Particle size influences numerous material properties, including reactivity, flow characteristics, grinding behavior, and overall process performance. For this reason, particle size distribution is routinely monitored and controlled.
Common measurement methods include sieve analysis, laser diffraction, and image-based particle analysis. The results are typically presented as particle size distribution curves or characteristic particle size parameters.
HERZOG offers a wide range of solutions for particle size distribution analysis. The portfolio includes sieve machines for various applications as well as the integration of laser diffraction instruments and image-based particle analysis systems into automated laboratory workflows. In combination with the PrepMaster Core and PrepMaster Analytics software platforms, measurement results can be automatically acquired, documented, and evaluated. This enables efficient, reproducible monitoring of particle size distribution throughout the entire analytical process.
