HERZOG has recently introduced a new system for fully automated sample preparation and analysis using glow discharge optical emission spectrometry. Glow discharge OES is a powerful method for the rapid analysis of elements on the surface of solids. It can be used to quantitatively determine the mass concentration of elements, e.g. in metal bath samples. In addition, GDOES enables depth profiling of the element concentration in coated metals such as galvanized sheet metal samples.
