Fully automated centrifugation for a wide range of applications

The HL-ACU enables fully automated centrifugation of samples for a variety of applications. When integrated into automated processes, samples are prepared in a highly efficient and time-saving manner without the need for operator intervention. Typical areas of application include, for example, QuEChERS procedures in which samples are centrifuged after the addition of partitioning and cleanup salts. Of course, many other applications can also be easily realized with the HL-ACU.

Efficient handling of sample tubes and centrifuge buckets

A portal system is used to insert the sample tubes into the designated centrifuge bucket. Each bucket can hold four 50 ml tubes or twelve 15 ml tubes. The centrifuge's swing-out rotor allows the use of up to four buckets at the same time, so that a maximum of 16 50 ml and 48 15 ml tubes can be processed per centrifugation. Due to the necessary symmetrical loading, at least four tubes should always be centrifuged at the same time.

Automated magazine loading and safe centrifugation

To ensure a smooth process, the buckets are first placed in a special magazine and then automatically placed in the centrifuge via the portal system. The loading hatch opens and closes fully automatically during loading and unloading, with the closure being continuously monitored. This ensures that the sample tubes are always centrifuged safely, without the need for external intervention.

Precise rotor positioning and high performance

The centrifuge rotor stops with pinpoint precision in the same position after each run. This not only ensures safe loading and unloading of the buckets but also prevents any possible mix-up of samples. If desired, each bucket can be additionally equipped with an RFID chip to achieve even greater process control. The centrifuge itself reaches a maximum speed of 5100 RPM, which corresponds to a relative centrifugal acceleration of 4696 g, and thus covers a wide range of standard applications.
