The HS-F 1000 is the standard machine for preparation of iron and steel samples by surface milling. The HS-F 1000 has an extremely flexible design in order to enable the easy integration into automatic systems. By default, the machine has access openings for robots and conveyors from both sides and from the back. This makes it very easy to align the machine to the applied handling system without significant additional expenses or space.

Here, we show an application making use of the backloading opening by a conveyor system. The sample is brought into the machine from the rear side using a transport slide. Thus, it becomes possible for a linear handling system to move the samples from the pneumatic receiving stations to the HS-F 1000.
