HERZOG has recently launched a new system for fully-automated sample preparation and analysis by using glow discharge optical emission spectrometry. Glow discharge OES is a powerful method for rapid analysis of elements in the surface of solids. It can be employed to determine quantitatively the bulk concentration of elements as, for example, in metal bath samples. Furthermore, GDOES provides a depth profiling of the element concentration in coated metals like galvanized sheet metal specimens.
