HERZOG delivers a new automated laboratory for sample preparation of Phosphate material.

The equipment is especially designed to prepare samples for XRF analysis derived from hydrometallurgical processes. The equipment is capable to process around 400 samples per day. A slurry sample is sent to a receiving tank in the laboratory and is reduced to a suitable volume. The recent automation has 12 automatic lines allotted to different sample types. Additionally manual lines exist for service mode operation. The gained solids are dried afterwards in industrial microwaves. The drying process is optimized by monitoring temperature and weight loss. The two breaker/splitters divide the sample into different portions required for XRF analysis, grain size analysis and archiving a back-up sample. The sample for XRF analysis is finally ground (HP-M) and pressed (HP-P) into steel rings. Two industrial robots handle the samples in this automation.
